Shorts and Sandy All Stars in Ponta..

I arrived back in Jo’burg at 19:00 from Beira Mozambique on Thursday evening, downloaded all the pictures and packed a bag with fresh clothes. Gary and Michelle picked me up 6 hours later at 1:30am and we headed for Ponta! A 9 hour drive to the border and 2 hours getting stuck in the dunes. All this to arrive to a beautiful beach wedding in Ponta D’auro. One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to…not that I’ve been to many but still!

Ponta was packed with so many awesome photo spots, unfortunately the sun was not our side and went down early so we couldn’t use all of them. A wedding with more than half of them being DJ’s what do you get? A seriously raukus party!

So my first destination wedding was a success and super excited for the next one! Mauritius, Thailand, Zanzibar…Anyone??? :)

Mozambique, here I come!

I photographed Pauls brothers wedding (Gary) nearly 6 years ago when I was still a new comer in the wedding photography industry. It was actually my first professional wedding. When I was asked to photograph Paul and Michele’s I was so happy! Then I found out they were getting married in Ponta do Auro in Mozambique and I just couldn’t believe it! My first destination wedding! You have no idea how excited I am!

We did the E-session last week in town. Parked our cars at the Market Theatre and went on a mission. Watch this space!

Ian & Andrea

14 April 2012

In 27 years I have only met one other person named Wesley. At this wedding, there were 3 of us…Me, and 2 of the best men. I realised one thing…Wesley’s are cool people :)

I just love the drive to the Hartbeespoort Dam, especially crossing over the bridge over looking the massive pool of water…it makes me think I’m going fishing! Ian and Andrea celebrated their wedding at Pecan Manor. One of the most beautiful venues I’ve been to! When I arrived, I took a quick walk around with Leanne, my trusty sidekick, to discover the most AMAZING decor!

The ceremony took place in a forest with all sorts of colourful ribbons hanging down from a tree as the altar. A beautiful and intimate wedding it was…

I love my job!
